Exam Prep Class Recent Attendee Passes Exam.
Steve,
I feel great about passing my Journeyman exam on the first try!

I took your Electrical Exam Preparation class in Rapid City in January 2006, and purchased Mike Holt's Journeyman Simulated Exam, and Understanding the NEC Vol. 1 & 2.  I then studied the books as you advised.

Your class was great !

The material you covered in only 2 days-
Motor calculations,
raceway & box calculations,
voltage drop calculations,
dwelling unit calculations,
conductor sizing & protection calculations
-probably covered approximately 50% or more of the questions on the exam I took.

I highly recommend to everyone wanting to pass the exam, to take your class!!

After completing and mastering Mike Holt's Journeyman Simulated Exam, (which covered theory, code, and calculations) at home; the exam questions seemed to be not so intimidating.

I took the ICC LaserGrade Computer exam May 10th, 2006 in Casper, Wyoming.

Thanks again Steve,

Jay Robberson
Glenrock, Wyoming

Congratulations Jay!!

It is always so good to hear from successful graduates when they pass the exam!
There is no magical formula to passing an exam other than to use the best books to study and attend an exam prep class. The work that Jay put into his study paid off in a big way.
Anyone who wishes to pass the FIRST TIME may benefit from Jay's study process above.

WY Master's Exam Success!

I have passed my masters exam!
I feel great about passing it on the first try!
I took your code update class in Rock Springs in December. While I was there I purchased Mike Holt's Electrical Exam Preparation book. I studied that book according to the instructions for two month's.

I then took your class on Electrical Exam Preparation in February. I studied for another month and took the the test on March 14th 2005 in Casper Wyoming. Your classes were a great help and the study book was also very helpful. I would highly recommend that others wanting to pass their exam's take your class.
Thank you very much for your assistance in my success.

-Richard Glasgow

Congratulations Richard!!
Your work, study, and determination have paid off!!

The method of study that Richard describes above is a very good recommendation for anyone preparing for an exam.  Start with a good code review, such as our Code Update class or Understanding the NEC Class, spend time studying the Exam Prep book, then follow up with the Exam Prep calculations course.

Another Success Story

I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for having the calculation seminar in Cheyenne Wyo. on the 5th and 6th of August (2004). It was a great asset for me I tested on the 7th for my Wyoming Masters. Although I do not know what my official test score is yet I do know by phone that with the State that I passed.

They will not give the score by phone but the person I talked with said that I did exceptionally well on the test. I had tested in June and missed by 2 points.

I feel that thanks to dedicated people  like yourself and Mike Holt I now have a new future. I have the paper work coming for my Wyoming Contractors license. I should be in Business by the end of the month.  Once again thanks for my newly gained independence.

Dave Knezovich
Rock Spring, WY

Congratulations Dave, and best of luck on the new business.  I really love to hear the success stories of our class attendees!

SD Contractor's  Exam.
I just wanted to tell you that I passed my SD Contractor's test.

I took your class in Cheyenne in August and took my test two weeks later and without a doubt the course and resources helped me pass.  I would highly recommend your course to anyone who wants to improve their career.

Thank you Steve!

Rob Thompson
Mitchell, SD

Congratulations Rob! It is always great to hear from successful graduates.

"... your class was excellent. A must for all people preparing for the exam."
- John Stanley, Douglas WY
(John took our exam prep class in January of 2000 and passed the Wyoming Journeyman exam 2 weeks later).

"Thanks to you and your course I passed the Journeyman's exam one week later (March 24, 2000) with an 82%, which in turn got me a bonus at work. Thank you again, I will recommend your course to anyone who will be taking the exam," Ted Bills, Rapid City, SD.

"This class shed light onto the dark areas of the code. Time spent here was very worthwhile and I know it will help a lot when taking my Journeyman test." - Larry M., Custer SD

Electrician's Exam Preparation Course:

This course will help you prepare for a journeyman or master electrical licensing exam. It is also approved for continuing education credit for electrical license renewal. We are using the Electrician's  Exam Preparation  text book by Mike Holt as the guide and format for this class.

About the Class format:

Steve Arne is an experienced teacher with a technical education degree and state technical education certification, who knows how to help you learn and develop your skills.

Our goal is not to entertain you with our lectures and speeches, but to involve you, motivate you, and teach you to be self sufficient in doing electrical code calculations.

You will spend more time in Steve's classes doing actual electrical code worksheets, after appropriate demonstrations and instructions. The best way to learn is through demonstrations, involvement, and practice.

The typical code calculation problem will be presented in this manner:

Steve will first provide relevant instruction, explaining code requirements and calculation methods.
Steve will work an example to demonstrate the proper application of the instruction just provided.
The class participants will work problems to build understanding and reinforce instruction.
Participants will come away from the class with the ability to work code problems on their own.
