Steve Arne has been involved in the electrical industry in South Dakota for 35 years, working as an electrician, electrical contractor, part time electrical inspector, and then full time as an electrical instructor at Western Dakota Technical Institute (WDT) for 19 years. During his tenure, Steve taught classes at every level in the Industrial Electronics Associate Degree program and served as Department Chair of the Electrical/Electronics Department. He has provided electrical code continuing education classes for many years as well, and continues to teach electrician exam prep classes and code classes since retiring from WDT. Steve’s website at www.AETech.com provides more information on classes he provides. The focus of each class taught by Steve is to provide accurate technical information in an easy-to-understand language.

Since 2002, Steve has become more involved each year in assisting nationally recognized NEC Code Expert Mike Holt from Leesburg, Florida and is currently the Technical Editorial Director for Mike Holt Enterprises while working from his office at Arne Electro Tech, in Rapid City, SD. This relationship allows Steve a unique opportunity to obtain insight and understanding of the National Electrical Code. Assisting Mike with electrical instructor train-the-trainer classes, participating in the filming of a library of training videos, and editing Mike’s groundbreaking NEC training books helps Steve to continually hone his instructional skills.

Steve has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Master’s Degree in Administrative Studies, and licenses as an Electrical Contractor, Master Electrician, and Electrical Inspector and is a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). Steve is active in his community and currently serves as Chapter President of the Black Hills Chapter of the South Dakota Electrical Council.
